Agent Training: Phase 1 - 12 hour times
Hi Agents, here is a short refresher in how to record a time in 12 hour format. If you don't wish to do this, go to the task menu and select your second agent training- 24 hour time format and conversions.
There are two ways that we can write the time - 12 hour or AM/PM or 24 hours.
Parts of a clock

A clock has two hands which we use to tell the time.
A clock has numbers from 1-12 - these are the hours in the day. It makes a full rotation every 12 hours. This hand is short.
How many times a day do you think the hour hand rotates? Why?
It also has 0-60- these markings show us the minutes and the minute hand makes a full rotation each hour. It is generally understood that each hour marking represents 5 minute marks. This hand is long.
Example - If the blue hand was pointing to the number 3, this would equal 15 minutes.
If the minute hand is between two numbers, you need to count the markigs to find the correct minutes.
How many times a day does the minute hand rotate? Why?
We record the times with either an AM or PM to indicate what part of the day the time is.
7:00am is in the morning (daylight).
7:00pm is in the evening (night).
