Hi year 4 Biologists!! Let's explore life cycles of living things.
Living things have life cycles
(ACSSU072)
What affects a life cycle?
The answer is lots of things!
Here is a short list for you to think about -
-
Predators or enemies
-
Lack of food and water - all living things need access to food and water.
-
Lack of sunlight - even humans need sunlight to survive!
-
Environmental changes - weather changes such as storms, floods or drought
-
Fire - some plants require fire to help release their seeds to regenerate.
-
Pollution - this lowers the quality of our air.
-
Loss of habitat
Left: A Banksiaseed needs fire to help open the seeds ready for germination.
Keep on thinking!
In class we will discuss how life cycles can overlap. Have a think about how you think one life cycle can affect another. Such as, how could the human life cycle affect a cow's life cycle?
Right: An example of pollution affecting our air quality.
